Route/Directions
How do I get to Castle Island?
The Department of Conservation and Recreation has a site here with some short directions to Castle Island at the bottom. You can also try using google maps by going here. When you get to the page, click on "Get Directions" at the top left corner of the screen under the Google Maps logo. You will see two boxes marked "A" and "B". Click on the double sided arrow to the right of the two boxes so that the Castle Island address is in the "B" box. That is the destination. Type in your starting point in the "A" box. Click on "Get Directions" to the right of the two boxes. This is the address I found for Castle Island. It may not be exact but you should see a sign for Castle Island. You can also scroll down to the end of the directions and click on the mini camera icon that is next to the destination. This will show you where you will end up.
How much of my donation goes to lung cancer research?
Did you know that every dollar contributed to lung cancer research by LUNGevity increases its power by 125% through granting partnerships?
Because LUNGevity makes matching grants with their partners, and because these partners bear the administration costs for the grants, each dollar awarded by LUNGevity is actually $1.25 for research!
What if it rains?
Our walk is held rain or shine. We did have to cancel the 2007 event due to extreme weather. However, we see this as a rare occurrence and do not anticipate the need to cancel again.
